Samuel J. Eck, 52, of 46 Heatherbrook Estates, Muncy, died on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at the Muncy Valley Hospital. Samuel and his wife, the former Twila J. Guffey, were married Oct. 4, 1996.
Samuel was born on Aug. 28, 1959, in Williamsport, and was the son of the late Philip and Shirley Wagner Eck.
He was a 1978 graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School. He is employed by Brodart as a sprayer. Sam was an avid Philly's fan and follower of Dale Ernhart Sr. and Dale Ernhart Jr. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a former member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Justin Eck, Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Diana Eck, Fresno, Calif.; two stepsons, Brent Trivelpiece, Turbotville, Todd Trivelpiece, Sunbury; two brothers, David Eck, Williamsport, Christopher Eck, Jersey Shore; four sisters, Tamy Wheeler, Jersey Shore, Phyllis Loner, Middletown, Patricia Loner, Rock Springs, Wyo., Barbara Miller, Williamsport; three grandchildren, Yasmin Eck, Amara Eck, Abraham Eck; two stepgrandchildren, Kylan Trivelpiece and Kierra Trivelpiece.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. David McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made in Samuel's name to: American Diabetes Association, 63 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 17801.
