Anna Kopysciansky

Anna Kopysciansky, 92, formerly of Excelsior, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of Sycamore Manor, Montoursville, for the past three years.

Born June 29, 1920, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Afton and Theodora (Warholic) Kiddon.

She was a 1938 graduate of Shamokin High School.

For most of her life she resided in Excelsior.

On Aug. 29, 1942, in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, she married Stephen Kopysciansky, who preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2004.

Anna worked as a seamstress at the former Arrow Shirt Factory in Shamokin and Elysburg.

She was a lifelong member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Linda Kopysciansky, South Williamsport; two grandchildren, Brian Kopysciansky and his wife Beth, and Kristin Carper and her husband Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Vincent, Mia, Brayden, Allie, Chase and Summer; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Charles Rich, Elysburg; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Kiddon, Stella Bridy and Judy Feifer, and three brothers, Paul, Thomas and Joseph Kiddon.

Divine Liturgy will be Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, with Rev. Ruslan Romanyuk as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, PA. 17872.
