Cutters win on road

August 7, 2012
From staff reports , Williamsport Sun-Gazette

NILES, Ohio Kevin Brady picked up his first win as the Crosscutters started a 6-game road trip with a 6-2 win Tuesday night at Mahoning Valley.

Brady went 5 2/3 innings, struck out seven and allowed just two unearned runs.

And while this season has been a struggle to find clutch hitting, that's exactly what the offense did in Mahoning Valley.

Kyle Hoppy went 2-for-4 with two RBI. He gave the Crosscutters the lead in the fourth inning on a solo home run to right field, his first as a Cutter.

Tyler Greene then made it 3-0 on his second homer of the year. Greene hit a two-run blast over the fence in left field in the fifth inning. Later in the inning, Hoppy drove in his second run with a two-out bloop single to right field.
