Betty Brewer Kleinfelter, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Dorothy Goodwin Brewer of Williamsport and the wife of Mark A. Kleinfelter of Annville. Betty was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Williamsport, but lived much of her adult life in the Palmyra/Annville area.
A 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School, she retired in 1999 from the Hershey Company with 34 years service. She attended services at the First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra, and was active in the Quentin Lions Club. Betty loved hosting family gatherings, making Valentines cakes with her grandchildren, having Easter Egg hunts, Halloween parties and picnics at "Big Pine Farm" and her beautiful flower gardens. She was a friend to all and "Grammy" to many.
The most important thing in Betty's life was her family. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter, Marilyn Richey Brandt and husband Douglas of Palmyra; son, William P. Richey II and wife Janet (Paris) of Palmyra; stepdaughter, Brenda O'Donnell and husband James of Elizabethtown; and stepson, Steven Kleinfelter of Hershey. Betty had eight grandchildren, Tiffany Thomas, Torrie Brandt, Niccole Richey, Kierstin Richey, Justin Fasnacht, LizaBeth Fasnacht, Destiny Fasnacht and Meghan O'Donnell; four great-grandchildren, Trent Brandt, Ayden Thomas, Claire Thomas and Elijah Koch. She is also survived by sister, MaryJane Devan and husband John of North Chili, N.Y.; brother, Charles T. Brewer and wife Ruth (Rhome) of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, David N. Brewer.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at First Evangelical Congregational Church, 55 W. Main St., Palmyra. Viewings are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Buse Funeral Home, 145 N. Grant St., Palmyra, and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
