Regarding the recent Saturday night flooding, having lived on Cherry Street for 25 years and dealing with the water issues several times, I have a thought for the city. The main problem with the storm was the excessive amount of water, that did not get into the existing drainage system.
Parking a backhoe at Cochran Elementary School is a lot like closing the barn door after the horse is out. Some one in this city knows the assess points for the existing drainage system. What would it take to clean debris from these access points on a regular basis, I for one would volunteer my time to help.
