Modern Agers corn roast
Modern Agers are meeting at Rauchtown Park for a corn roast at noon. The group encourages anyone who loves conversation and food and is 55 or older (or younger) to join that day or come to the church at 1407 Allegheny St. every second Thursday of the month at noon. ROSEVILLE - Roseville United Methodist Church, Route 549, will hold a strawberry festival from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Backpack blessings
SALLADASBURG - The Mt. Zion, Larryville and Salladasburg churches bless backpacks of school-age and college students during church services.
Fundraising picnic
BLOSSBURG - Holy Child Parish will host its annual fundraising picnic featuring a buffet-style roast beef dinner from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Mary's Hall, 138 St. Mary's St. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. Takeouts will be available. Also, a basket auction and raffle will be held about 2:45 p.m.
