G. Mary Richlin

G. Mary Richlin, 75, of Overton, (Sullivan County) Pa., passed away on Thursday Aug. 9, 2012, at the Dar-Way Elder Care Center in Forksville, Pa.

Mary was born on June 28, 1937, a daughter of the late George S. and Gladys Sherman Fassett in Forks Township, Overton, Pa. On June 1, 1957, she married James H Richlin Sr. in St. Francis Xavier Church in Overton PA and celebrated 55 years together.

She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and St. Basil's, the Great Church of Dushore.

Mary was a past president and current vice president of the V.F.W. Post 384 Ladies Auxiliary of New Albany. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. But her greatest love was her family and especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband James of Overton; three children, James H Richlin Jr. of Towanda, Pa., Tina and Jeffrey Meck of Hughesville, Pa., and Elaine C. Richlin of New Albany, Pa.; five grandchildren, Brian Richlin, Wade Richlin and Amanda West, Shannon Clark, Sarah Adams; a stepgrandson, Allan Meck; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Landen Clark and Ellie Adams; a sister, June Armes and a brother, Benjamin Fassett.

Mary was also survived by Rebecca Rosenberry whom she considered a daughter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Teeter and Earl Fassett; a brother-in-law, Harley Armes and a son-in-law, Arden West.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday Aug. 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. in St. Basil's the Great Catholic Church in Dushore, Pa., with the Very Reverend Glen McCreary of Church of The Resurrection in Muncy, Pa., presiding.

Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Overton, Pa.

Family and friends are invited to view on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St., Dushore, Pa.

Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Association, in Mary's memory.
