Attorney joins downtown law firm

Murphy, Butterfield & Holland, P.C. announces Jeffrey A. Rowe has joined the firm as an associate attorney. Rowe is a graduate of Lewisburg High School, the University of Delaware - where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa - and the University of Maryland School of Law. Rowe began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Penny L. Blackwell of the York County Court of Common Pleas, then moved to the York County Public Defender's office as a trial attorney before being selected to run the office's appellate practice.

Rowe decided to return home in 2010, taking a position with the Lycoming County Public Defender's office. During his time there, he represented clients in criminal matters ranging from summary offenses and DUI to drug felonies and homicide. He also represented clients at mental health commitment hearings, protection from abuse proceedings, and domestic relations contempt hearings.

A member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Lycoming Law Association, He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Rowe resides in Lewisburg with his wife, Julie, and their three children. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Union County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and as a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church's Kunkel Academic Scholarship Committee.

He will be practicing in the areas of criminal defense, post-conviction relief, civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, workers' compensation, social security disability, wills and estates, and appellate representation.

Richard A. Grafmyre, president & CEO of Jersey Shore State Bank recently announced the promotions of several key employees.

Ann M. Riles was named senior vice president/chief credit officer/ chief administrative officer for Jersey Shore State Bank. With more than 29 years with the bank Riles is responsible for managing the lending function to ensure quality and profitable loan growth for the bank.

She is a graduate of Mansfield University and various Pennsylvania Bankers Association Schools, American Institute of Banking classes and Leadership Lycoming. She is a board member of the Industrial Properties Corporation and previously has served as a board member of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lycoming as well as various Pennsylvania Bankers Association Committees, the Lycoming County United Way and capital campaigns.

Stephen M. Tasselli was named senior vice president/senior lending officer/commercial loan manager. Employed at Jersey Shore State Bank since 1997, Tasselli is responsible for the bank's commercial lending, commercial loan services and the collection departments for the bank. He holds a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University and is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers' Association's Advanced School of Banking, the American Bankers' Association's National Commercial Lending School, and the Williamsport/Lycoming Leadership Lycoming Program.

He serves as the secretary/treasurer for the Lycoming County Industrial Development Authority after having served many years on their Industrial Properties Corporate Board. Additionally, Tasselli has held positions at Lock Haven University, including Field Faculty Supervisor, Foundation Board Member, and Business Education Curriculum Board. He is a member of the Lock Haven Elks, the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and the Sons of Italy Lodge. In addition, he is a Finance Council member with the Holy Spirit Church and serves on the board of directors for the Sons of Italy Lodge.

Stephanie A. Oakes was promoted to vice president/commercial services manager. Oakes' responsibilities include commercial depository, cash management, and electronic banking services at Jersey Shore State Bank. She is a graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School and holds a business administration degree from Pennsylvania State University. She is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania Banker's Association's School of Banking, the Association of Financial Professionals Cash Management Fundamentals School, and the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lycoming Program. She also holds certificates from Penn State University in Small Business Management, Business Management, Advanced Business Management, Supervisory Essentials I, II, and III. She is also currently enrolled in the Pennsylvania Bankers' Association's Advanced School of Banking.

Active in the community she acts as both the corporate sponsorship chairwoman for Daffodil Days and Volunteer Leadership Council member for the Lycoming County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She is also a funds distribution panel member for the Lycoming County United Way.

Christine M. Magyar was named vice president/sales and development manager. She is responsible for developing sales training and referral programs as well managing the bank's training function. Prior to joining Jersey Shore State Bank, Magyar was a human resources senior retail recruiter and learning and development facilitator for Sovereign Bank. She holds several human resources and training certifications: AIRS diversity recruiter, American Society for Training and Development Certification, and human generalist certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.

She is a member of the Watsontown Lioness Club, Co-Founder and Volunteer for the Kellie R. Grose Foundation and actively volunteers for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
