Gerald L. "Gerry" Batdorf, 72, of Turbot Avenue, Watsontown, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012.
Born in Danville on Aug. 2, 1940, he was the son of the late Ray S. and Ida B. (Manley) Batdorf. On June 27, 1971, he married the former Connie R. Fornwalt and they have celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Gerry was a 1959 graduate of Milton Area High School where he was an outstanding football player, having started all four years.

VETERAN
He served his country in the US Army National Guard.
Gerry retired from C.M. Offray, Watsontown, where he had worked over 20 years. Earlier in life he had worked at the former Montgomery Mills.
He was an avid wood-worker, Penn State Fan and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed country music and traveling. Earlier in life he played in the Fast-Pitch Softball League in Milton with the Philco team.
Surviving besides his wife Connie are a brother and sister-in-law, Charles R., Sr. and Nancy Batdorf; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy and Charles Snyder, and Marianne Stump, all of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William R. Batdorf, Sr. and Robert Batdorf; and a sister, Esther Raup.
Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Varner of Mount Deliverance Chapel, New Columbia, officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
