As local drivers continue to cope with major traffic jams on Maynard Street during business hours (caused by diverted traffic from the Arch Street Bridge, complicated by the badly-timed stoplights at the I-180 intersection), have any of the local traffic geniuses taken into consideration that we are about to add a couple thousand impatient teenagers to the mix, trying to get in and out of Penn College?
Just asking.
In case you haven't experienced it, traffic's already backed up to 3rd Street and to the end of the exits trying to empty out onto Maynard St.
Drivers trying to turn left and right around the Maynard St. businesses are pulling crosswise across lanes of traffic, not caring how much gridlock they're causing.
I invite the streets and highways officials to do something to mitigate this problem before fall classes begin.
