One man is behind bars and another hospitalized in an intensive care unit following a stabbing in the 300 block of Locust Street about 2 a.m. Saturday, city police said.

Tristin Michal Nickles, 25, of 331 Locust St., allegedly stabbed neighbor Marty Hale during an argument, police said. Hale suffered stab wounds to the abdomen and right arm, police said.

The victim was initially taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, but later transferred to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was reported in serious condition, a nursing supervisor said Tuesday night.

Initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison on a probation violation, Nickles was arraigned Monday before District Judge James Carn on charges of aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering and possession of an instrument of crime. He was recommitted in lieu of $150,000 bail.
