Elsie A. Keyes, 98, a former resident of Williamsport and Edgewater, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, in Severna Park, Md., where she had been a resident at the Sunrise Senior Living Facility for the past three years.
She was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Paolo and Anna (Barbagolla) Messina.
Elsie graduated from Upper Darby High School, Upper Darby, Pa.
Being married to Ray Keyes, former journalist and sports director for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, Elsie was an avid sports fan and big supporter of the Little League.
She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Keyes and son, LCDR Harold W. Guinn Jr.
Elsie is survived by four grandchildren, Aimee (Scott) Kelly of Severna Park, Md., Kathryn (Jim) McHugh of Bristow, Va., Nicole (Andy) Fickes of Lancaster, Pa. and Giles (Meredith) Roblyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven great-grandchildren, Mason, Clancy, Katie, Tucker and Piper Kelly, Logan and Garrett McHugh, Quinn and Laurel Fickes, Nicholas and Caroline Roblyer; daughter-in-law, Judith Waring Roblyer (Michael) of Arnold, Md.; three nieces, Barbara (Eric) Aird of The Villages, Fla., Ruth (Bill) Coburn of Gamet Village, Pa. and Mary Alice Morphies of Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was also predeceased by sister, Marie Maruzzelli and brother Anthony Messina.

Relatives and friends are invited to Elsie's Life Celebration service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport with Rev. Susan Lynch officiating.
A visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery.
