ELKLAND - Neil D. Davis, 38, of Addison, N.Y., was charged by Lawrenceville police with theft of services recently after he allegedly failed to perform services for which he already had been paid. According to documents filed at District Judge Brian Edgcomb's office, Davis accepted checks totaling $1,350 from Kathryn Helgemo for removal of trees and stumps on her property and then never performed the work. He was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail with a Thursday preliminary hearing.
