Rash of thefts from cars in township

August 17, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

State troopers reportedly spent much of Thursday talking to Loyalsock Township residents of the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Orchard Avenue who reported their vehicles were entered overnight Wednesday.

One resident told the Sun-Gazette that loose change and a small amount of cash was taken from a truck.

"They were looking to just get money," said the resident, who declined to provide a name. Valuables, such as iPods and other possessions were left untouched, the resident added.

"The troopers told us that they took reports from at least five people and had two more interviews to do," the resident said.

There were unconfirmed reports that two homes in the neighborhood may have been illegally entered, the resident said.

Police had no information to release to the public about their investigation into the thefts.
