Carl F. Schramm

Carl F. Schramm, 93, a resident of the Williamsport Home, and formerly of Baldwin Street, Williamsport, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 30, 1918, in Williamsport, he was a son of Chester and Helen Bussler Schramm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie (Snyder) Schramm; two brothers, George and Chester Schramm; and two sisters, Louise Reams and Emma Jean Smith.

He was a 1933 graduate of Williamsport High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Carl retired after 31 years from GTE Sylvania, and had been a member of their quarter century club. He was a member of F&AM Lodge 397 for over 50 years. He was a member of the Alpine Hiking Club, and had been a leader and chairman of Boy Scout Troop No. 37. He was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church. Carl enjoyed woodworking, making cabinets and going to craft shows with his wife.

Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Schramm and wife Kay and Carl F. Schramm II and wife Karen, both of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew and Scott Schramm.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Balls Mills United Methodist Church, 5941 Bloomingrove Road, Cogan Station, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay A. Morris officiating. Burial will be held in Montoursville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Carl's name may be made to Balls Mills UMC .
