An adult motorcyclist was flown by medical helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following a crash in Montoursville on Interstate 180 westbound about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to county emergency officials.
State police are investigating the crash in the 2200 block of the highway where it runs by Indian Park.
The driver, who was not identified as of Sunday by an investigating trooper, suffered serious injuries, and police temporarily closed one of the westbound lanes to get the helicopter on the scene.
A spokesman for Willing Hand Hose Co., of Montoursville, confirmed personnel at the station responded because it was in the borough, but he could not say anything else until police concluded the investigation.
The Danville trauma center, where the driver was flown, does not provide information on victims without identification.
