Atrocious

August 21, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

I have driven down High Street for more than 15 years on my way to work and back and am angered every day by the atrocious pile of trash that is left at the American Rescue Workers building overnight almost daily. The items that are left for them to dispose of aren't usable by anyone. Broken dressers, dirty mattresses, old couches with cushions missing, bags of clothes left out in the weather are what are dropped off overnight.

If the people dropping them off in the dead of night don't want them, what makes them think someone else might want them? Just because a person is down on their luck doesn't mean they don't deserve nice things. Let's do the American Rescue workers a favor. They do a great job of taking care of us, why not treat them with the respect they deserve and not dump our trash off for them to deal with?
