Janice L. Reed, 84, of Jersey Shore, died Saturday morning, June 16, 2012, in the Laurels Personal Care Home in Wellsboro.
Born May 17, 1928, in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter of Lee R. Reed and the former Helen M. Lowe.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore and a life member of the Order of Amaranth Tiadaghton Court No. 136. Janice also was a member of the Past Matrons & Patrons Group of Amaranth. She retired in 1990 from P.M.A. Insurance after 41 years of service. Janice was a 1945 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School and was a 1946 graduate of Miss Wheaton's School of Business in Williamsport.
She is survived by two brothers, Lynn D. Reed of Townsend, Del., and Fred E. Reed of Wilmington, Del.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, corner of Allegheny and Grover streets, Jersey Shore. The Rev. Helen Learn, her pastor, will officiate.
Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, is in charge of arrangements.
