A four-run third inning lifted the Jamestown?Jammers past the Williamsport Crosscutters on Thursday night, 5-2.
The rally put the Jammers ahead for good, after trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the third.
Viosergy Rosa doubled on a fly ball to center field to drive in two runs and put Jamestown ahead by one run. Michael Vaughn then hit an RBI double in Jamestown's next at-bat to put the fourth run on the board.
Jamestown added to its lead in the fourth inning thanks to Michael Main singling on a ground ball into left field.
The Crosscutters offense clicked in the third inning when Roman?Quinn hit a two-RBI double into left field. The Crosscutters collected three hits in the third inning, and would have just one additional hit the remainder of the game.
Jamestown's offense collected 10 hits off Williamsport's pitching staff. Kevin Brady (1-3) got the loss on the mound for the Crosscutters, surrendering eight hits while striking out seven.
Andre Kinder and Matthew Sisto came in for Williamsport in relief, striking out four and only giving up two hits.
Jamestown's pitchers Ramon Del?Orbe (2-5) and Frankie Reed combined on the mound, striking out nine Williamsport batters.
Williamsport's defense struggled shutting down the Jammers' bats, as Main, Anthony Gomez and Rosa each had two hits.
No Crosscutter had multiple hits, with just Quinn, Zach Taylor, Jiandido Tromp and Tyler Green connecting.
Williamsport was 2 for 5 with runners in scoring position on Thursday.
The loss drops the Crosscutters to 24-39 on the season and 14 games back in the Pinckney Division, trailing the Auburn Doubledays (38-25).
Williamsport continues its road trip as they play the Batavia Muckdogs stating tonight at 7:05 p.m. for a three-game road stand before returning to Bowman?Field on Monday to face the Jammers again.
