Mr. and Mrs. Marvin H. Staiman, Williamsport, observed their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 17, 2012.
They were married by the late Rabbi Samuel Blinder at Congregation Ohev Sholom.
Mrs. Staiman, the former Jean Alpert, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Rebecca and Benjamin Alpert. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1945 and from the former Dickinson Junior College, now Lycoming College.

Mr. Staiman, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Rose and Walter Staiman. He attended Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received an honorary doctorate of humanities degree from Lycoming College, for his years of community service. He served in the Army and joined the family business, Staiman Brothers Recycling Corporation, as a third generation member.
They are the parents of four sons and two daughters.
There are 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
