Blessing of the animals
WOOLRICH - Woolrich Community United Methodist Church will hold a blessing of the animals at 9 a.m. in the Woolrich parking lot. Animals must be on a leash or in a carrying cage. Each owner will receive a certificate of Blessing, showing the animal's name. The event will be held rain or shine.

Labor of Love
SHAMOKIN - Mother Cabrini Youth Center will hold its eighth annual picnic at the Ranshaw Civic Association grounds fro 3-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday. In addition to food, entertainment will be provided. The picnic replaces the center's food stand at the Bloomsburg Fair and is used as a fund-raiser to support the operation of the youth center building and its programs.

Single service set
WOOLRICH - Woolrich Community United Methodist Church will hold one service at 10:30 a.m. in Woolrich Park at pavilion 2. Communion will be served. Bring lawn chairs. Special music will be provided by the Woolrich Women's Chorus. A picnic will following the service with barbecue, rolls and beverage provided. Everyone bring their own table service and a dish to share.
Hymn sing
CALVERT - The Beech Valley United Methodist Church will hold a hymn sing at 6:30 p.m. In addition to congregational singing, there will be special music by the Beech Valley Choir and other groups. Refreshments will be served after the program.

Yankee Stadium trip
CANTON - The Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton will sponsor a trip led by Bonnie L. Browning, minister, and David B. Morris, retired minister, to New York City on Sept. 1 for the New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles Major League Baseball game at 1:05 p.m. Cost for the baseball game and transportation (round trip coach) and breakfast is $150.00 per person. The bus will be stopping at the following locations: Mansfield, Troy, Canton, Roaring Branch, Ralston, Williamsport and Danville. The deadline for reservations is Aug. 31. CROP Rally scheduled
The CROP Rally, to distribute materials to individuals and organizations interested in participating in the 2012 Greater Lycoming County CROP Walk to combat hunger locally and globally, will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 6 at New Covenant United Church of Christ, 202 E. Third St. Sponsor forms and many types of promotional materials will be available. The Walk itself will take place at 1 p.m. on Oct. 14, embarking from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 142 Market St. This will be the second CROP Walk at the new location, the River Walk, and the first under the direction of the new chairperson, Rev. Kenneth E. Wagner-Pizza of Trinity Episcopal Church.
