Phillip A. Moore, 52, of Center Street, Lock Haven, died Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 2012, in the ManorCare North Health Center.
Born May 28, 1960, in Williamsport, he was the son of Amos A. Moore and the former Susan P. Moore.
Phil was a 1979 graduate of the Williamsport High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Edinboro University in 1984 and his master's of education degree from Lock Haven University in 2002. He served in the Peace Corps in Kenya and worked as a counselor in area rehabilitation facilities. Phil also taught in the Kingman, Arizona schools as well in the Jersey Shore area.
Phil is survived by one brother, Michael A. Moore of Belle Vernon, Pa.; two sisters, Rev. Dolores M. (Larry) Calhoun of Jersey Mills and Virginia M. Moore of San Diego, Calif.; three nieces; five nephews; one great-niece and two great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jersey Mills Cemetery. Rev. Dolores M. Calhoun, his sister, will officiate.
