A city man faces charges after allegedly participating in a sidewalk dice game in the 700 block of West Fourth Street at about 1 a.m. July 17.
Yamir Smith, 21, of 326 Bridge St., Apt. 4, has been charged with possession of gambling devices, conspiracy gambling and disorderly conduct.
City police noticed a group of males in the southeast corner of a parking lot along West Fourth Street. In the affidavit, police said the location is "known for drugs and illegal activity."
According to police, the men were gathered in a circle. One said, "What did I get?"
Another responded with "something to the effect of 'roll them again,' " according to police.
In the affidavit, officers said, "It was apparent that they were playing a dice game." On the ground near the feet of the men, police found money and two die.
Smith was arraigned before District Judge Gary Whiteman on Aug. 17. He is out on $5,000 bail.
The other men who allegedly were playing will be charged as well, according to court officials.
