Thelma J. Raymond

Thelma Jane "TJ" Raymond, 75, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at The Gatehouse Hospice following a brief illness.

Thelma's husband of 21 years, Leon R. Raymond, the love of her life, died Oct. 6, 1997.

Thelma retired from the Susquehanna Council Boy Scouts of America as their registrar on Oct. 31, 2002, being the longest serving council staff member having reached 35 years of service.

Thelma loved sewing and crocheting, making things for her family. She, along with her husband, loved square dancing and bowling. After he passed, she enjoyed taking bus trips and going to movies.

Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Montgomery, she was the daughter of Arthur Bruce and Ismay Alice Stamets Fry.

Surviving are nieces Kathy (George) Heiges and Peggy (David) Kennedy, both of Elimsport; sister-in-law, Margery Fry of Elimsport; great-nephew, Jeremy (Joann) Kennedy; great-nieces, Erin (Vic) Johnston, Stephanie and Jaimie Heiges; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.

Thelma was predeceased by a brother, Elvin L. Fry.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Pastor Michael A. Hill officiating. There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Elimsport Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name may be made to the Susquehanna Council Boy Scouts of America, 815 Northway Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
