A Montoursville teen faces charges after allegedly providing a juvenile with a marijuana cigarette, according to police.

Dalton Lee Mazzante, 19, of 432 Spruce St., faces charges of distributing a small amount of marijuana not for sale and corruption of minors.

On March 24, Montoursville police stopped a car driven by an unnamed juvenile. During their interview with the juvenile, police suspected he was under the influence of marijuana. The juvenile was taken before a Lycoming County drug recognition expert, who confirmed that suspicion.

The juvenile and his or her parents cooperated with police and provided officers information about where the teen had obtained the marijuana, according to court records.

The juvenile gave police with a written statement, which named Mazzante as the supplier of the marijuana. According to the statement, Mazzante had given the juvenile a marijuana cigarette in the 300 block of Cherry Street on the night of March 23.

According to court records, Mazzante did not request money for the marijuana cigarette but simply "pulled it out and offered it."

Mazzante waived his preliminary hearing on Aug. 20 and faces charges at the county courthouse on Sept. 10.
