Disappointing

August 31, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

For three years, I have been a member of the Williamsport women's soccer program. As a player and one of four captains this year, I can say wholeheartedly that the program is far from "a mess," as it was described in the newspaper Saturday.

What many people have forgotten is that a winning record is not the only measure of success for a program. I have many positive memories that have been made through WAHS women's soccer, such as long lasting friendships, team camaraderie, working through adversities, and working toward common goals.

Although we did not win as many games as we would have liked, we were competitive, and it has been a great experience for me as a high school player.

It is disappointing that the Sun- Gazette only brings negative attention to the women's program.
