The fall of 1998 my wife and I went to the SPCA to get a puppy. Once we arrived at the SPCA we came upon a litter of puppies, I walked up to the litter and then backed up, then a little golden puppy with pointed ears walked out of the litter and chose me. I named her Sophie. I was lucky to have shared 14 beautiful years with Sophie. During those years Dr. Lewis (Lewis Veterinarian Route 220) and his staff provided medical attention as needed and they always were kind, empathetic and ready to serve Sophie.
Sadly, Sophie was put to sleep one week ago and needless to say my wife and I were very sad (yes I cried when Sophie died in my arms). I would like to say thank you to the SPCA for Sophie and the 14 glorious years she shared with my wife and I and to Lewis Veterinarian Services for their professional care with the touch of empathy.
