Being honest

September 7, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

There are several types of taxes that all of us pay from year to year be it income, payroll, sales tax and others. Mr. Romney did not write the tax code and is not accountable for the uneven taxation based on 'income'.

He is, however, vying to be the president of the United States and doesn't feel the need to reveal what he actually paid in federal income taxes for a reason.

If anyone may objectively examine how someone who receives more than $1 million a year in income pays on average a lower percentage of tax than someone making $50,000 yet cannot see the built-in inequity of the tax code, perhaps they are just not being honest with themselves.
