Special service for military
WOOLRICH - Woolrich Community United Methodist Church will honor military men and women who are being deployed this fall at the 10:30 a.m. worship service with a special prayer and a time of fellowship afterward. Anyone being deployed in September, October and November should plan to join.
Mothers of Preschoolers meet
MUNCY - The Mothers of Preschoolers Muncy Chapter will meet from 6-8 p.m. the first and third Sundays of each month in the lounge at First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom- urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, single, and married moms - who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in mother-child relationships and are filled with unique needs. MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children.

Farragut Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, along Route 864 near the intersection with Route 87, will hold its monthly First Tuesday Fellowship Dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. Free-will donations are accepted.

Pierogi sales to begin
The Auxiliary of Holy Cross Orthodox Church, 1725 Holy Cross Lane off Northway Road in Loyalsock Township, will begin a new season of monthly pierogi sales at its fellowship center, adjacent to the church off Northway Road in Loyalsock. Pierogi are made fresh on the first Friday of the month (potato/cheese filling) and sold by the dozens from noon to 3 p.m. Orders are called in by the Tuesday prior at 601-4291.

Fairfield United Methodist Church, 833 Fairfield Church Road, will hold a family thrift shop featuring fall and winter clothing and free summer clothing from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.

10th anniversary celebration
WATSONTOWN - Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10275 Route 44, will celebrate its 10th anniversary starting at 9:15 a.m. A chicken barbecue dinner is scheduled around noon, with the chicken, drinks and dessert supplied. Service to remember the dead
MUNCY - A memorial service honoring those at rest in the Webster Cemetery, adjoining the Huntersville United Methodist Church, 5263 Rabbittown Road, will be held at the church at 10:30 a.m. A light luncheon will follow the service.
Block party scheduled
