Donald B. Whitby, Lock Haven, passed away Oct. 31, 2011, at the age of 82. He was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Donald grew up in Germantown, Pa. He was a track star and completed in the Penn Relays. He served in the Army, had worked at General Electric in Valley Forge, Pa., then moved to Florida where he owned and operated a lawn service business for commercial properties. In 1980, he returned to Pennsylvania.
His parents, Lewis and Ester Whitby, and cousin, Jay Schaetzle preceded Donald in death. Left behind are his two daughters, Suzan Ecker (Thomas) of Forksville, Pa., and Donna Phillips (Dr. James) of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren, Holly Irion (John), Heidi Foster, Tyler and Abigail Satterwaite; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Jillian Irion; and cousin, Janet Cox of Kennebunk, Maine.
Memorial service will be Sept. 5, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Christ Church in Williamsport, Pa.
