Thomas L. Watkins

Thomas L. Watkins, 57, of Covington, Pa., died on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, in Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa. Thomas was born on Nov. 19, 1954, in Wellsboro, Pa., the son of Kenneth and Helen (Bellinger) Watkins. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (DeHaven) Watkins.

Thomas was employed for 37 years with Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg, Pa. He was a member of the Local 304B union for Ward Mfg., a life member of the NRA and a member of the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Thomas is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle and Alden Pequignot of Wellsboro, Pa., Jennifer Watkins of Mansfield, Pa.; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Ed Watkins of Wellsboro, Pa., Rick and Gail Watkins of Liberty, Pa., Walter Watkins of Mansfield, Pa.; three grandchildren, Paige Cook, Allie Pequignot, Tyresa Adams; two uncles, Ed (Lois) Bellinger, Walter (Cora Hakes) Huggler; one aunt, Reva Dunmore; three nephews, Richie Townsend, Anthony (Jennifer Willammee) DeHaven, Kyle (Emily) DeHaven; one niece, Kelly (Kieran) Dougherty and two cousins, Asa and Walter Dunmore. Thomas was predeceased by one sister, Virginia Townsend; one brother, Mahlon Watkins; a granddaughter, Mallory Pequignot on March 17, 2012; and one aunt, Jean Huggler.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, Pa. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Adam Pereira officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Thomas' name to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
