Man allegedly forged woman’s check, stole quarters

Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Loyalsock Township man faces forgery-related charges for attempting to cash a check he stole from a woman's township home, state police alleged in court papers.

After stealing the check from Doris Patt's home on Aug. 19, Thomas Edward Tamberelli, 57, of 1915 Sheridan St., attempted to cash it for $85 at a local bank, but he stormed out when the teller told him that he would be charged $10 since he did not have an account, police said.

Police also allege he stole rolls of quarters from Patt's home.

Following his arraignment last week before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on charges of forgery, theft and receiving stolen property, Tamberelli was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
