JERSEY SHORE - A man and a woman face charges after they were caught allegedly stealing $75 worth of scrap metal from Buttorff Plumbing and Heating, 216 Bastress St., during the early morning hours of July 16, Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police said in court papers.
A witness to the theft reportedly flagged down an officer in the 300 block of Allegheny Street and gave a description of the getaway vehicle, which officers stopped in the 300 block of North Main Street.
In the vehicle was Michael J. Harman, 40, of 201 Woodward St., Woodward Township, and Donna L. Stamm, 54, of the same address, along with a juvenile, police said. In the truck was metal stolen from the plumbing business, police said.
Harman has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy while Stamm was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit theft. The two have been sent summonses to appear before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley. No information was provided on whether the juvenile faced any charges.
