Mr. and Mrs. Clifton N. Confer, Montgomery, observed their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 2, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Alfred A. Ambrose at the bride's home in Milton.
They are members of Nippenose Bible Fellowship Church, Oval.

Mrs. Confer, the former Linda L. Mero, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of Betty J. Mero, Milton, and the late Walter J. Mero. She graduated from Milton Area High School in 1966. She retired from American Home Foods ConAgra, Milton, after 32 years of service in the purchasing department.
Mr. Confer, a native of Jersey Shore, is the son of the late Grace Kitchen Confer and Earl Confer. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1963 and served in the Army for three years. He retired from Frito-Lay after 34 1/2 years of service.
They are the parents of a daughter, Erin Mazzulla, Howard, and a son, Clifton N. Jr., Grampian.
There are five grand children and one great-grandson.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip was taken in June to Mackinac Island, Mich., and a trip to the Finger Lakes in N.Y. will be taken his month.
