Something strange is happening: All my 75+ Impatiens plants have died, but most of my other plants are reasonably healthy.
About two months ago the first plants started to die in one portion of the perennial garden. The "illness" spread slowly to overtake the rest of the plants on the property.
I noticed on my morning run that someone on Hilltop Road has Begonias and Impatiens planted along the sidewalk all the Begonias appear healthy but the Impatiens are dying or dead.
Is there something in our atmosphere or rain or being carried by the wind that is affecting Impatiens?
Are others in the area noticing a similar pattern in their flower gardens? I miss that lovely splash of color provided by Impatiens this time of year!
