TOWANDA - Frank L. Toth, 49, of Armenia Mountain Campground, Troy, recently was charged with attempted rape, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and simple assault in one incident and aggravated assault in another.
According to state police, Toth attempted to rape a person at the campground and then prevented the person from leaving the area, physically assaulting the unidentified victim on Sunday.
Troopers arrived to take Toth into custody for those charges on Monday, but he fought with them, police said. Toth allegedly hit an officer with a 6-inch by 6-inch post and tried to kick another trooper several times, police said.
He eventually was taken into custody, arraigned before District Judge Timothy Clark and committed to Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.
