Eugene J. (Gene) Segraves, 75, formerly of Diamond Street, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Valley View Nursing Center.
Born in Jersey Shore on Aug. 23, 1937, he was the son of Colonel and Marie (Engel) Segraves.
Gene was a Sheet Metal Mechanic with Local No. 44 located in Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of the Polish Club and the American Legion.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 as a Specialist Fourth Class.
He is survived by five children, Kathy (Donald) Harris, of Cogan Station, Barbara, Patty (Jerry) Girardi, Scott (Rachel) & Deanna (Charlie Reynolds), all of Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Nadine, Damon, Cash, Ty, Steel, Gennaro, and Angelo; four great-grandchildren; a brother, James, of Collomsville; a sister, Ann Kiessling, of Williamsport; a stepsister, Teresa Patt, of Florida; and former spouse, Eva Segraves.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Edward (Ned) and George.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2012, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
The family will receive friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St. from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a family vigil service at 5:30 p.m.
