Lester E. "Big Daddy" Jenkins, 93, of Rutland Township, passed away Sept. 6, 2012, at the Green Home Inc., Wellsboro, Pa.
He was born July 22, 1919, in Rutland Township, the son of Earl and Hattie Brown Jenkins.
Lester was a life long resident and dairy farmer in Rutland Township.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Alan) Crippen, Jean Pazzaglia (Bob Vlajic) of Rutland Township; a sister, Roberta (John) Eck of Montoursville; a brother, Stuart Jenkins of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Alan (Michelle) Crippen II of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., Michael Crippen of Rutland Township, Michelle (Quinton) Taylor of Batavia, N.Y.; and seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brittany, Schuyler and Felicity Crippen, Christina Crippen Brown, Catherine and Adam Taylor. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence, in 1998.
Friends are invited to call at the Wilston Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, Pa., Monday 5 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, noon to 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow there Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Lester's grandson, Reverend Alan R. Crippen II, officiating. Burial will follow in Roseville Cemetery. Family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions in Lester's memory may be made to the Roseville United Methodist Church, 4118 Rt. 549, Mansfield, PA 16933.
