Ecumenical luncheon

United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. The 2012 Fall season begins this Wednesday when Mrs. Eleanor Derr, a registered nurse, will discuss how nursing education has evolved. Derr served as the final director of the Williamsport School of Nursing at Williamsport Hospital. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church Wesley Hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how much food to prepare.

Devotion line

The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 322-5762. The devotionalist next week will be the Rev. Danesta Whaley. Whaley is a member of Citychurch, Williamsport and the executive director of Yokefellow Prison Ministry.
