Post W to hold dinner meeting
Post W Williamsport Travelers Protective Association of America (TPA) will hold its monthly dinner meeting on Sept. 19. A dinner of roast pork will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting.
Reservations are requested by Friday by calling Helen M. Mayer, secretary-treasurer at 435-2376.
Also, the Police Officer of the Year banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Dining Hall at the Dr. Creighton Hall Grove-Little League International, South Williamsport.

Historical society to meet Thursday
HUGHESVILLE - The East Lycoming Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church social hall at Main and Academy streets.
Bob Webster will present the program about the historic Muncy Manor-Muncy Farms Estate near Halls in Lycoming County.
The program will highlight the beginning in 1769 when the estate was established by Samuel Wallis and continue on to the Hall, Brock and Barlow families, the present owners.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
The museum will be open for one hour before the meeting begins.
Relay For Life team to hold fundraiser
St. Michael's Angels Relay For Life team will hold an electronic recycling fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 22 in the parking lot of Hoss's Steak and Sea House restaurant, 1954 E. Third St.
The team will be accepting cell phones, cable TV boxes, camera, computer equipment, hard drives, laptops, mainframes, printers, telephones, VCR's, X-boxes and more.
They will not be accepting hazardous items that have refrigerants, acids or paints of any kind, radioactive material, oils-PC's or microwaves or appliances.

LAPS organization to hold fundraiser
The Lycoming Animal Protection Society, a no-kill cat shelter in South Williamsport, will hold a fundraising yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at First Ward Fire Co., Hastings Street, South Williamsport.
