South Williamsport Borough Council Monday night adopted a memorandum of understanding to participate in the Lycoming County Area Television partnership.
The project is an undertaking of area municipalities, Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, Lycoming County Visitors Bureau, Lycoming County government and Comcast.
Programming, government meetings and emergency announcements will be broadcast on Comcast channel 75. Once the channel is in place, programming also will be available online.
Council designated Ed Weinhoffer as a point of contact for the project.
A new police officer - Jacob Summers - also was sworn in at the meeting. Borough Manager Michael D. Miller said Summers previously was employed at the Lycoming County Prison before beginning work as a borough police officer.
Trick or treat hours were set from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.
