Regarding last week's writeup on this year's 9/11 motorcycle run, I, and I am not alone in this, was glad the route was shortened.
While I or anyone else is not complaining about honoring 9/11 and what happened and the heroes, the ride is just that, a big motorcycle ride.
The ride disrupts traffic, makes it hard to get somewhere on time and I have twice seen accidents due to this. Once was a car was rear ended while stopped and the other was a biker in the run.
Great the city can claim it has a large bike run, but why can't all this bikers help a senior center, soup kitchen, clean a park, help other people instead of tying up traffic and burning gas to go for a cruise.
