MANSFIELD - Borough police rescued and then charged Brian L. Spencer, 30, of Port Allegany, on Sunday.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, Spencer was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, after police were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive man leaning over the barrier on the eastbound side of Route 6 with his face in the grass within inches of the white fog line of the roadway, which curves at that location.
He was released on $2,500 bail and his preliminary hearing set for Oct. 3.
