I am replying to Mary Kolb's letter about the impatiens this year. I also have two flower beds that have no flowers, just bare stems. I checked online and found there is a disease called downy mildew that affects impatiens. I bought my plants from three different sources and they all have it so apparently it is running rampant this year. There is not much to do at this point, but next year I will plant something different. I miss the beautiful blooms this year also.
