A continuing dialogue with retired military friends always migrates to the incredulous reality that a significant number of the voting public still supports this failed president. The discussion usually includes how throughout history most narcissistic monarchs rose to power pandering to a "blind, deaf and dumb" populace.
Remember, during a 2008 affluent San Franciscan fundraiser, then Sen. Obama referred to the citizens of Pennsylvania thusly: "they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
When I assumed command of an USAF fighter squadron, the Numbered Air Force Commanding General made it clear that he held me personally responsible for all outcomes and that attempting to pass blame to the previous commander was unacceptable. So, for me, the fact that our Commander-in-Chief and his surrogates pass blame and deny any accountability for his presidency is abhorrent.
The Affordable Care Act stole $716 billion from Medicare that included $156 billion for Medicare Advantage. As a result, it's estimated that 50 percent of Pennsylvania seniors using Medicare Advantage will lose that coverage within the next 5 years. He spent almost a trillion dollars through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act guaranteeing that unemployment would stay below 8 percent when the reality is that it's been above 8 percent for 3 years. He promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term in office but his policies have doubled the national debt, creating an interest payment large enough to fund the Chinese military's annual budget.
His alternative energy policy reeks of crony capitalism where 71 percent of energy grants and loans went to Democratic donors, bundlers or members of the President's National Finance Committee. His last two budgets were so outrageous they were defeated in both the House and Senate without receiving a single Democratic or Republican vote.
Tax history, dressage horses, and Bain Capital are fallacious, ad nauseam diversions from President Obama's failed foreign, domestic and national security policies. It's not the president that America should fear but that part of the voting public who will ignore his failures and vote to reelect him, ensuring America's ultimate collapse.
