September 15, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The man who killed a former local person at a state Game Commission pistol range in North Middleton Township near Harrisburg in July 2010 was sentenced to life without parole in Cumberland County Court Aug. 16.

Raymond F. Peake III, 66, a former Camp Hill Prison guard, pleaded no contest to the death of 42-year-old Todd Getgen, of Enola and a 1987 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.

Prosecutors said Peake shot Getgen for his AR-15 assault rifle and was allegedly collecting firearms for an unnamed militia group to overthrow the U.S. government.

Peake's trial on murder charges was scheduled to be next month.

Getgen, who grew up in Rauchtown was an Army veteran and graduate of the Dickinson School of Law. He was a personal injury lawyer and is survived by his wife Stella and their 6-year-old son.
