A man and woman face charges of allegedly breaking into vehicles, stealing items from inside the parked vehicles and illegal use of a woman's credit card, Old Lycoming Township police said.
Christopher Elam Bitner, 20, of 2120 Mill Lane, and Cayleigh M. Jean, 19, of 2126 Fritz Lane, were captured on a local store surveillance camera using the woman's credit card information, according to Officer Matthew McCormick.
The investigation began Aug. 25 when police responded to several calls about vehicles getting broken into in the Princeton Avenue and Fink Avenue areas.
A search warrant was issued for the 2120 Mill Lane address and police discovered the items, according to the affidavit.
Arraigned Thursday before District Judge James H. Sortman on charges of conspiracy to commit forgery, theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, illegal use of credit and possession of an unspecified controlled substance, Bitner and Jean each posted $10,000 bail and were released.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 19.
