Mr. and Mrs. Ira L. Carpenter, Lock Haven, observed their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 15, 2012.
They were married in Elkton, Md., and are members of St. Luke United Church of Christ, Lock Haven.
Mrs. Carpenter, the former Nancy Catherine Keiffer, is a native of Lock Haven. She is the daughter of the late Edna E. Fenstamaker Keiffer and John J. Keiffer Sr. She graduated from the former Lock Haven High School in 1947. She retired in 1974 from Lock Haven Hospital in the X-ray department and became a homemaker.
Mr. Carpenter, a native of Lock Haven, is the son of the late Caroline Poorman Carpenter and Walter Scott Carpenter. He attended the former Lock Haven High School and served in the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1946. He retired in 1989 from the former Pennsylvania Power and Light, now PPL Electric Utilities, as a systems analyst.
They are the parents of two daughters, Judy Baker, South Williamsport, and Jo LaRocque, Flemington.
There is one granddaughter, four stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner is being planned.
