Mr. and Mrs. Steven W. Rupert, South Williamsport, are observing their 40th wedding anniversary, today, Sept. 16, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Hugo W. Shroeder Jr. at Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport.
Mrs. Rupert, the former Sharon Denius, is a native of South Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Esther and McClellen Denius. She attended school in South Williamsport. She is employed by South Williamsport Area School District as a personal aide.

Mr. Rupert, a native of South Williamsport, is the son of the late Margret Mendler and John Rupert. He attended school in South Williamsport. He retired in June 2011 from Montgomery Area School District. He is employed by East Lycoming High School as assistant football coach.
They are the parents of three daughters, Stephanie Kraynak, Williamsport; Heather Smith-Rupert and Alexandrea, both of South Williamsport; and a son, Jason, Loyalsock Township.
There are 12 grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, the family went on a summer vacation to Brigantine, N.J.
