ROUNDUP: Showers picks up MAC honors

Lycoming running back Parker Showers was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday after setting the Warriors' career record for kickoff return yardage. Showers, a senior, notched 52 yards worth of kickoff returns in Saturday's 21-13 win over Lebanon Valley, including a 33-yarder on the game's opening kickoff. He added a 19-yard return in the second quarter to pass Ricky Lanetti who accumulated 987 kickoff return yards from 2000-2003. Showers now has 990 career return yards.

Warriors defensive back Ryan Mihoci was also named to the MAC Honor Roll after posting three tackles and a game-clinching interception against Lebanon Valley on Saturday.

Bucknell's Tayler Siegrist scored a goal on a penalty stroke in the 70th minutes, but it wasn't enough as the Bison fell to Ohio State, 3-1, in college field hockey. Ohio State's first goal was scored by Selinsgrove graduate Danice Deckard.

Bucknell's Mayowa Alli scored the Bison's first two goals in a 4-0 win over Albany in men's soccer. Brendan Burgdorf and Brian Ward also scored for the Bison, and Mike Lansing recorded two saves for the shutout.

Penn College's Kaileen Delaney scored a goal and added an assist as the Wildcats scored a 3-1 win over Washington Adventist in women's soccer. Warrior Run graduate Reda Vermilya made six saves for the Wildcats.

Bucknell gave up five unanswered goals in the third quarter in a 13-9 loss to Princeton in men's water polo. Mike Kimble scored a career-high five goals as the Bison went 1-2 at the North-South tournament to finish fourth in an eight-team field.
